Screening Mammography

A screening mammogram is used to detect breast tumors in women who have no symptoms of breast cancer. The goal of a screening mammogram is to detect tumors that are too small or too deep to be discovered any other way. Put simply, mammography is an important part of a woman’s annual wellness check-up.

CT Lung Screening

Screening of the Lungs is a non-invasive CT scan that can detect abnormalities and lung cancer in its earlier, more curable stages using a new technique called low-dose CT scanning. The screening is far more accurate in finding lung tumors than a chest x-ray, the traditional diagnostic tool. It can find lung cancers when they are as small as the diameter, as compared with a chest x-ray that find them when they are about the size of a quarter. Lung screening CT is a superior screening tool over traditional X-ray for monitoring lung health among individuals with a history of smoking.

Full-Body Scan

The latest technique in preventive medicine, the Full-body HealthScan is a comprehensive series of CT scans that can detect certain abnormalities of the heart, lungs and organs of the abdomen and pelvis. The screening is non-confining and pain-free. The only preparation required for the Full-body Scan is for the patient to complete a standard medical history questionnaire at the time of his appointment.

Virtual Colonoscopy

Virtual Colonoscopy is a quick and painless procedure that allows doctors to look at the large bowel (colon) to detect polyps and cancers in the early stages. It uses a CT scanner and computer graphic software to produce images of the colon through which the radiologist can “navigate”. It is a non-invasive test.

Vascular Screenings

  • Carotid Vascular Test The Carotid Vascular screening test utilizes B-mode and Doppler ultrasound technology to assess for blockage of the carotid arteries. Assessment will be made for plaque formation, aneurysm and blood flow.
  • ECHO Screening Test The ECHO screening test utilizes B-mode and Doppler ultrasound technology to measure the ejection fraction (EF) of the left ventricle, identify wall motion abnormalities (ischemia), murmurs (stenosis, valve insufficiency)

Bone Density

Bone mineral density testing, DEXA is the gold standard for diagnosing patients who have or are at risk for osteoporosis — a disease that causes bone to become more fragile over time. This scan can help determine if bones are starting to become porous or thin before a bone is broken.
