Imaging for Students, Athletes & Club Members

Coordinate an ordered imaging examination for students, athletes or club members with Advantis.

Start with the clinical order

An injury or health concern should be assessed by a qualified clinician, who can determine whether imaging is needed. When an order is available, our scheduling team can confirm the examination and location.

Plan ahead for the visit

Discuss scheduling, payer information and any documentation requirements before sending someone to the center. For a minor, confirm parent or guardian consent and accompaniment requirements with the office.

A shared plan for follow-up

Agree on which clinician receives the report and how the patient or guardian should arrange follow-up. Imaging alone does not provide clearance to return to sport; that decision belongs with the treating clinician.

A practical coordination checklist

  • Confirm that the treating clinician has supplied an imaging order.
  • Identify the patient or guardian who will arrange the appointment.
  • Check the examination, side and preferred location.
  • Clarify payment or insurance arrangements before the visit.
  • Ask about consent, accompaniment and identification requirements for minors.
  • Agree on which clinician receives the report and manages follow-up.

A school or club contact should not assume that coordinating travel or payment gives access to a patient’s imaging results. Ask the records team about the required authorization if documents need to be shared.

Planning around an injury

Tell scheduling if an injury affects walking, transferring onto the table or keeping the body region in a comfortable position. If the patient has a brace, cast or surgical implant, ask what information is needed before the examination. Do not remove a prescribed support or alter treatment without instructions. The imaging team can discuss the practical requirements of the ordered scan.

Returning to training or competition

Arrange a follow-up appointment with the clinician managing the injury so the scan findings can be considered alongside symptoms, examination and recovery. A completed MRI, CT or X-ray does not itself provide clearance to return to activity. Keep the results discussion and any rehabilitation plan separate from the practical task of booking the imaging appointment.
